PCD wire drawing die is made of micron-sized diamond particles and bonds sintered under high temperature and high pressure. It has the advantages of high hardness, good wear resistance and strong impact resistance. PCD wire drawing die has the advantages of uniform wear and long service life during its use, and is suitable for high-speed drawing.
Because the price of PCD is much lower than that of single crystal diamond, it has been widely used in the wire drawing industry. At present, most diamond drawing dies use PCD drawing die cores.
CD drawing die core classification:
PCD drawing die core can be divided into cobalt base and silicon base according to different bonding agents.
The cobalt-based PCD wire drawing die core contains metal bond and has good machinability. It can be processed by electric spark, laser, ultrasonic and other processes. However, the existence of cobalt metal makes diamond easy to graphitize at high temperature. Therefore, the PCD die core is suitable for processing and using under the condition of less than 650 degrees Fahrenheit.
The machinability of silicon-based PCD drawing die core is relatively poor, but there is no metal bond in the material, so the material can still maintain good thermal stability at 1000 ℃.
